The short version: Dead Passage does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. All your game progress (scrap, tokens, pets, settings) is saved locally on your device. We use Google AdMob to show optional rewarded video ads.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Dead Passage (the "Game"), developed and published by Max & Jax Studios ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use our mobile application available on Google Play.
By installing or using Dead Passage, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the Game.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Dead Passage is designed with privacy first. We do not collect, request, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal contact information
- Your real-world location or GPS data
- Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- Account credentials of any kind (Dead Passage does not require an account)
- Behavioral tracking or analytics tied to your identity
3. Information Stored on Your Device
The Game stores the following information locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:
- Game progress: current level, wave, kills, score, and combo state
- In-game currency: scrap and tokens earned through play
- Unlocked content: weapons, pets (Medic Rat, Bomber Beetle, Shield Drone), and weapon attachments
- Settings: music and sound effect volume preferences, control settings
- Persistent counters: daily login state, achievement progress
This data is saved using your device's standard local storage. Uninstalling Dead Passage will delete all locally stored data permanently.
4. Advertising — Google AdMob
Dead Passage uses Google AdMob to show optional rewarded video ads. These ads are always player-initiated (you choose to watch them in exchange for in-game rewards such as extra HP, bonus scrap, or a continue after death). We do not show forced interstitial ads.
When you choose to watch an ad, Google AdMob may collect information including:
- Device identifiers (such as advertising ID)
- Approximate location based on IP address
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- Information about the ad you viewed
This data is processed by Google AdMob in accordance with their own privacy policy. Please review:
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device's settings.
5. Children's Privacy
Dead Passage is not directed at children under 13 years of age. The Game contains depictions of zombies, weapons, and stylized combat that may not be appropriate for younger audiences. The Game's age rating on Google Play reflects this.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information through use of the Game, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
6. Permissions Requested
Dead Passage requests only the minimum permissions necessary for the Game to function:
- Internet access: required only to load advertisements through Google AdMob
- Vibration: used for haptic feedback during gameplay (gunshots, hits, damage)
The Game does not request access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, or storage.
7. Data Security
Because Dead Passage does not collect or transmit personal data to our servers, there is no central database that could be compromised. Your game data resides entirely on your device, protected by the security mechanisms of your device and operating system.
8. Third-Party Services Summary
The only third-party service integrated into Dead Passage is:
- Google AdMob — for serving rewarded video ads when you opt in to watch them
We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any other tracking or analytics services in Dead Passage.
9. Your Rights
Since Dead Passage does not collect personal data, traditional data-rights requests (access, correction, deletion) do not apply. However, you retain full control over your local game data:
- To clear your local game data: uninstall Dead Passage from your device, or use Android's "Clear data" option in app settings
- To opt out of personalized advertising: reset your advertising ID in your device's settings, or enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in Google settings
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Game, or applicable laws. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through an update to the Game itself or through the Google Play Store listing.
Your continued use of Dead Passage after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
